The School occupies prestigious niche as the center of excellence for scholarship and research in humanities and social sciences. It is rooted in the University ’s mission of providing high level manpower through quality training, research, consultancy and community service.

 

Currently, the school has seventeen (17) highly qualified faculty members. Their ranks range from professors, senior lecturers, lecturers, to tutorial fellows. Our academic staff are highly accomplished in scholarship; over 80 per cent hold doctoral degrees from local and overseas universities. They have published widely and are continuously engaged in reputable national, regional, and international scholarly assignments.

 

Our goal in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences is to prepare learners for life and service as responsible citizens. Above all, we aim at broadening learners’ competences through critical and analytical thinking. Needless to say, we are living in a fast changing technological world. If we must survive, and for sure we should, we must keep abreast with emerging challenges. At the same time, employers are looking for graduates who are versatile, team-players, ethical, and resourceful problem-solvers; graduates who possess extraordinary sensitivity to address the diverse needs in varied situations. Towards this end, the School inculcates requisite problem-solving skills to prepare learners for brighter and successful future.
